Advocacy is a driving force behind AWIR’s mission of promoting the science and practice of rheumatology. Become an advocate and add your voice to the discussion.

We believe in creating a strong network of women advocates that will

support AWIR policy priorities at both the state and federal level.

Our advocates are working on the frontline of health care and have firsthand knowledge of the struggles our patients endure. To help provide support for our advocates we have crafted the tools and resources necessary to actively engage legislators and regulators around the country.
Advocacy support is available to help with issues affecting health care providers and patients.

Become An Advocate

As physicians, you are part of the community outside of politics that holds real power in changing health care policies that affect patients and practices.

If you serve as an advocate for AWIR, the level in which you participate may vary. Your role could be as simple as signing onto a letter of support issued by AWIR or as in-depth as providing expert testimony at a committee hearing. No matter the level, your participation will help shape health care policy for the future of medicine.

If interested, please fill out the contact form below and AWIR government affairs staff will contact you when support is needed in your state or at the federal level.
