Practice Development
AWIR is dedicated to providing support for physicians in developing the practice of Rheumatology. Resources provided include mentoring, networking, contract review techniques, and negotiation skills.

Local Community
AWIR local chapter meetings give members the opportunity to network, mentor and lead on a local and regional level. Attendance is free and all are invited.

Fees may be reduced and/or waived based on individuals country ranking by the World Bank and the Board's discretion.
Memberships are valid until rescinded by the member. Notifications will be sent to the email on file, so please ensure that this is a personal email address you will always be authorized to access.
RULES FOR MEMBERSHIP
Membership in the Association includes health care providers whose practices involve the treatment of patients with rheumatic diseases.
Rheumatology clinicians: Rheumatology specialty health care providers participating in the care of patients with Rheumatic diseases (Adult and Pediatric).
Non-Rheumatology clinicians: Non-Rheumatology specialty health care providers participating in the care of patients with Rheumatic diseases
- A licensed or retired Rheumatologist may join by paying membership dues.
- Fellows-in-training and recent graduates (within 3 years) can join by providing a letter of certification from the Rheumatology Program Director or proof of the date of completion of fellowship training. This can be uploaded during the Registration process. Membership fees will be waived. (The employment contracts are not acceptable as proof of trainee status).
Credentials:
- Physicians (MD, MD PhD, DO MBBS), Advanced Providers (Advanced Nurse, ACPAC, AHP, Nurse Consultant, NP, D-NP, Physician Assistant)
- Fellow: Rheumatology Fellows in clinical training to receive credentialing as a Rheumatologist. This is inclusive of early career physicians within 3 years of graduation. Attestation letter required from Program Director or Chair.
- Medical Student / Medical Resident: A medical student or resident, enrolled in an accredited training program, with interests in Rheumatology. Attestation letter required from Program Director or Chair.
- PhD / PharmD: Credentialed scientists who work in the field of Rheumatology
